We Have A New Home!

After many happy years in Rock Village Hall it was time for us to look for a new home. Rock Estates have been good landlords but unfortunately the floor in the Old Village Hall needs essential and significant work to make it safe and secure for the future.  To enable this work to take place we needed to remove Rock Junction from the hall.  Sadly this meant the complete dismantling of the the layout.  Many buildings etc. have been preserved but sadly the layout is no more.   Don't be sad this event has opened up a new chapter in the life of Alnwick Model Railway Club.  You can follow the development of our new layout on this site.

Newbiggin Sailing Club to the Rescue

After much hunting and a number of false starts we found a new home in a dedicated room at Newbiggin Sailing Club. We held our last get together at Rock on Wednesday 14 August 2024 and held our first informal meeting at Newbiggin by the Sea the following week.  From now on it is expected that there will be some of us in the club room at least once a week on a Wednesday evening from about 7:00pm.

After nearly a year at Newbiggin July 2025 has seen the collection of the points and track needed to start building our new layout. The baseboard team have just about completed their work and electronic  wizards have been practicing their black arts to get the DCC power district wiring in to place. The permanent way gang should be able to start work soon.
